The Kerbl TubBease Treatment Shoe is engineered to support horses with compromised hooves such as sole ulcers, hoof abscesses or other hoof-wall issues. The shoe’s design allows air to escape upwards (preventing a hot, humid internal climate) while the rubber-coated sole retains treatment fluids on the hoof and keeps external moisture out. The interior can accommodate a thick EVA insole (sold separately) to help reduce pressure pain and extend the useful life of the shoe. Perfect for box-rest or limited movement care, this shoe aids in targeted hoof treatment and comfort.
Usage
Target Species: Horses (with hoof issues requiring support/treatment)
Application: Worn on a hoof during periods of restricted turnout or rest to support treatment of sole ulcers, hoof abscesses, thrush, chipped wall, or other hoof injuries.
Method:
Clean and dry the hoof thoroughly before applying.
Select the correct size for the hoof width and hoof condition (Medium, Large, or XL).
If required, insert an EVA insole into the TubBease shoe for additional pressure relief.
Attach the shoe to the hoof using the supplied hook & loop straps, ensuring a snug but comfortable fit.
Apply the specified hoof treatment fluid, then fit the TubBease so that the treatment stays in contact with the hoof and moisture from outside is prevented.
Keep the horse on box rest or minimal movement, consistent with veterinary/farrier advice, until the hoof condition stabilises.
After use, inspect the shoe for wear, clean if needed, and store it in a dry place.
Frequency:
Use specifically during the treatment period when the hoof is compromised rather than during full turnout or riding.
Replace or refurbish the shoe when worn, or when the EVA insole loses cushioning, or the straps degrade.
