Podium Girth by First Rider

The First Rider Podium Girth is crafted to secure the saddle comfortably without excessive pressure, helping maintain correct saddle position during riding. Suitable for general schooling, jumping or everyday work, it complements many saddle types and rider needs.

Usage

• Target Species: Horses

• Application: Used to fasten the saddle in place under the horse’s barrel during riding.

• Method:

  1. After placing the saddle and pad correctly, bring both billets down and secure them into the buckle ends of the Podium Girth.

  2. Adjust until snug but not overly tight — you should be able to insert two or three fingers between girth and horse without slack.

  3. Once fitted, check that the girth sits flat against the horse’s body and that the saddle is stable.

  4. After riding, unbuckle the girth, loosen it, remove it for cleaning if needed and allow the horse’s side to air.

• Frequency:

  • Use every ride when the saddle is used.

  • Inspect the girth regularly for wear, buckles and stretch; replace if buckles distort or leather/rubber begins to crack.
