Optichlor Eye Ointment by Ilium

Ilium Optichlor Eye Ointment is designed to manage ocular infections caused by susceptible bacteria in canine and feline patients. Each gram of the ointment contains 10 mg of chloramphenicol, a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against various bacterial pathogens. The ointment’s formulation ensures ease of application and sustained contact with the eye surface, promoting effective treatment outcomes.

Usage:

Target Species: Dogs and Cats

Indications: For the treatment of ocular conditions in dogs and cats where an antibiotic is required, including conjunctivitis and other bacterial eye infections.

Administration: Topical application to the eye.

Dosage: Apply approximately a 1 cm strip of ointment into the conjunctival sac two to three times daily.

Method:

1. Ensure hands are clean before application.

2. Gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

3. Apply a 1 cm strip of the ointment into the pocket.

4. Release the eyelid and allow the animal to blink, spreading the ointment across the eye surface.

Duration: Continue treatment as prescribed by a veterinarian, typically until the infection has resolved.
