Chloroint is formulated to treat conjunctivitis, bacterial eye infections, and inflammation of the eye tissues through its dual action: the antibiotic component (chloramphenicol) targets bacterial organisms, while the corticosteroid (hydrocortisone) helps reduce swelling, redness, and irritation. The ointment base allows prolonged contact with ocular surfaces, aiding in sustained action. Note: it is not for use in cases of corneal ulceration.
