Butorgesic Injection by Ilium

Ilium Butorgesic Injection is a centrally acting opioid analgesic and sedative designed to provide effective pain relief and sedation in veterinary patients. With its rapid onset and moderate duration of action, it is suitable for managing acute pain, facilitating diagnostic procedures, and serving as a pre-anesthetic agent. The formulation ensures precise dosing and is available in sterile vials for ease of administration.

Usage:

Target Species: Dogs, Cats, Horses

Indications:

• Analgesia: Relief of moderate to severe pain associated with surgical procedures, trauma, or colic.

• Sedation: Facilitates handling, diagnostic procedures, and minor surgical interventions.

• Pre-anesthetic: Reduces the required dose of induction agents and enhances analgesia during surgery.

Administration: Administer by intravenous (IV), intramuscular (IM), or subcutaneous (SC) injection, depending on species and clinical situation.

Dosage:

• Dogs: 0.2–0.3 mg/kg (equivalent to 0.2–0.3 mL per 10 kg body weight) via IV, IM, or SC injection.

• Cats: 0.4 mg/kg (equivalent to 0.2 mL per 5 kg body weight) via IM or SC injection.

• Horses: 0.1 mg/kg (equivalent to 1 mL per 100 kg body weight) via IV injection.

Method:

• Use aseptic technique during administration.

• For IV administration, inject slowly to minimize potential adverse effects.

• Adjust dose based on the animal’s response and the procedure’s requirements.

Duration:

• Onset of action typically occurs within 15 minutes.

• Duration of analgesia lasts approximately 2–4 hours, depending on species and dosage.
