0.5% w/v Metronidazole Injection USP by Qatar Pharma is a ready-to-use, sterile, and non-pyrogenic intravenous solution containing 5 mg of metronidazole per mL. It is indicated for the treatment of serious infections caused by anaerobic bacteria and certain protozoa, including infections of the gastrointestinal tract, reproductive organs, skin, bone, and bloodstream. The 100 mL flexible IV bag ensures convenient administration and aseptic infusion, making it suitable for use in both hospitals and veterinary practices.

Usage:

Target Species: Dogs, cats, equines and Livestock

Indications:

• Anaerobic bacterial infections (e.g., peritonitis, septicemia, abscesses)

• Protozoal infections (Giardia, Entamoeba, Trichomonas)

• Gastrointestinal and intra-abdominal infections

• Pre- and post-operative prophylaxis in contaminated surgeries

Application: Intravenous infusion only; to be used under medical or veterinary supervision

Dosage: Typical dose is 7.5 mg/kg every 6–8 hours, depending on species and severity of infection. Dosing must be guided by a healthcare provider

Method: Administer slowly via IV infusion over 30–60 minutes. Do not administer as a bolus. Inspect for clarity and leaks before use
