Usage

Application: Used during horseshoeing to clinch nails after driving nails and finishing the clinch, the clincher is used to bend and flatten the nail end to secure the shoe and protect the hoof wall.

Method:

• After the shoe is nailed and the nails protrude from the hoof wall, place the clincher jaws over the exposed nail end.

• Squeeze the handles to bend the nail over, then use the flat face of the tool to press the clinch clean and flush.

• Ensure the clinch is tight but not so forced as to damage the hoof wall or cause stress to the nail.

• After use, clean off any hoof debris or metal filings, inspect the jaws for wear and misalignment, dry thoroughly and store in a farrier tool rack.
